Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)

Social services districts and community-based organizations in each locality are helping us get the word out about ERAP and can assist both tenants and landlords in completing applications. They also can provide internet access, assist with uploading documentation, and answer other questions that you might have.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) issues electronic benefits that can be used like cash to purchase food. SNAP helps low-income working people, senior citizens, the disabled and others feed their families. Eligibility and benefit levels are based on household size, income and other factors.

Department of Social Services

The Department of Social Services provides an array of services to Westchester residents in need of help, including the areas of child support, food, housing, medical services and home energy costs. Families seeking shelter after business hours or on weekends should contact DSS Emergency Services at (914) 995-2099

Hope Community Services

Homeless Resource Center (HRC) located in New Rochelle at 50 Washington Avenue offers day-time counseling services and meals. Dinner is served every week day (Monday through Friday)

HOPE-Full Kids provides meals for students during school breaks including Christmas, Winter and Spring Break, as well as the Summer months when students are not in school. Bags of breakfast and lunch foods are available the Friday prior to the holiday for pick up at HOPE.
